LOS ANGELES, California — Associate Professor Pascal Magne has earned a 2018 Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry for “Simplified treatment of severe dental erosion with ultrathin CAD-CAM composite occlusal veneers and anterior bilaminar veneers,” an article he wrote with co-authors Luis Schlichting and Tayane Holz from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

CHP+ Will Continue In Colorado: Funding Reauthorized For Six Years

WASHINGTON, District of Columbia — Congress has reauthorized the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHP+) for six years and the president has signed the bill into law. The bill provides $21.5 billion for fiscal year 2018 for CHP+, increasing to $25.9 billion by fiscal year 2023. This means CHP+ will continue in Colorado.

​Botched New Data Protection Act Could Slap £2k Bill On Small NHS Providers

LONDON, England — The British Dental Association (BDA), Optical Confederation and Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC), writing on behalf of 40,000 dentists, 11,500 community pharmacies, and 19,000 optometrists and dispensing opticians, have said the Data Protection Bill – due to start its progress through the House of Commons on 5 March – will, as currently drafted, slap significant extra costs on small providers.

March JADA Looks At Severity Of Periodontal Disease In Meth Users

CHICAGO, Illinois — Understanding the severity and prevalence of periodontal disease in patients who use methamphetamines is crucial for dental professionals who may provide care to them, according to research published in the March issue of The Journal of the American Dental Association.

For the cover article, "Periodontal Status of Current Methamphetamine Users," researchers reviewed periodontal assessments completed on 546 adults, most of whom were cigarette smokers and medium-to-high methamphetamine users. Researchers found that smokers and methamphetamine users had a high prevalence of periodontal disease.
