Outstanding Precision Prepares The Way For Cementable All-Ceramic Restorations

BENSHEIM, Germany – The new CEREC MC XL milling machine delivers such outstanding precision that all-ceramic crowns can now be conventionally cemented. To this end Ivoclar Vivadent has developed a new disilicate glass ceramic material (“IPS e.max CAD”). So far adhesive bonding has been the only option for all-ceramic crowns. Now dentists have no reason to prefer conventional PFM restorations. The high level of precision (+/- 25 µm) is a direct result of the enhanced MC XL milling system. Compared with the previous CEREC unit, the milling steps are two to four times smaller. The high-quality surface finish reduces the time needed to adapt the restoration to the tooth and mill the occlusal surface.
