Dental Volunteers Needed in New Orleans

Operation Blessing, an international humanitarian relief agency, has been committed to helping the residents of New Orleans rebuild since Hurricane Katrina. One of the agency's ongoing programs is a dental clinic that provides free services to those in need. The clinic is staffed primarily by volunteers and cannot open unless a dentist is scheduled to volunteer. There is currently a shortage of dental volunteers.

The clinic is open Monday – Friday, provided a dentist is on site. It is a walk-in clinic and cleanings are offered if a hygienist is volunteering. Procedures are typically restorations and extractions.

Volunteers are provided with sleeping accommodations, meals, and transportation to/from the clinic and to/from the airport, if needed. The state of Louisiana will issue temporary licenses to any licensed dentist or hygienist during the time they are volunteering for Operation Blessing.
