For some people—sufferers of migraines, cluster headaches, or trigeminal neuralgia, which affects the lower face and jaw—pain of the head and face can be debilitating. The burden of these conditions is due in part to the fact that pain of the head and face is measurably different from pain in the rest of the body, both subjectively and in the brain.

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — In June of 1993, I volunteered for my first Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic in Union County Tennessee. Early that Saturday morning RAM founder Stan Brock and another volunteer showed up in an old pickup truck with two well-worn dental chairs in the back, and moved them into the basement conference room of the local Health Department.

LOS ANGELES, California — Associate Professor Pascal Magne has earned a 2018 Judson C. Hickey Scientific Writing Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry for “Simplified treatment of severe dental erosion with ultrathin CAD-CAM composite occlusal veneers and anterior bilaminar veneers,” an article he wrote with co-authors Luis Schlichting and Tayane Holz from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
